Our Founders

Founded in August of 2005 by two
community activists who were
concerned about  the lack of
representation and participation of
Latinos in the GLBT community of
Houston.
What began as an informal gathering
has now evolved into a diversified
group of individuals that include
business owners, professionals,
educators, students and more.
Houston's' Gay and Lesbian Latin Organization
is a charitable and cultural, social organization created to educate, instill pride and
advocacy for GLBTQ Latinos and our allies.

IT IS EVIDENT THAT OUR COMMUNITY IS VERY DIVERSE AND OUR INTERESTS MAY VARY, BUT WE WILL BRING AS MANY VOICES TOGETHER
IN THE SPIRIT OF BUILDING A UNIQUE ORGANIZATION THROUGH:

  • EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS IN BREAST CANCER,HIV/AIDS
  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN
OTHER HEALTH RELATED ISSUES AFFECTING LATINO GLBTQ PEOPLE.

  • ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITY'S YOUTH AND ELDERLY

  • AWARDING EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

  • CULTURAL AWARENESS & CULTURAL ARTS

IT IS NOT THE INTENT OF GALLO TO FILL EVERY VOID, HOWEVER WE WILL BE PROGRESSIVE INNOVATIVE AND OPEN MINDED WITH THE
ISSUES WE DO TAKE ON.
